Galseal is an excellent, long lasting, easy to use timber oil for exterior decking, fencing and timber.
It does not form a surface coating but penetrates the timber allowing easy maintenance.
It is available in 3 colours: Mahogany (dark chocolate brown), Teak (red to brown) and Light Oak (almost clear) The darker colour does have more UV resistance.
Packaged in 1 litre, 5 litre and 20 litre containers.
Timber must be clean and dry before application. Timber painted previously with Galseal can be just brushed and wiped clean of dirt. Any old surface varnishes and paints must be removed before application to allow the Galseal to penetrate into the timber on application.
Use face mask, goggle and gloves when applying. Stir/Mix Galseal well before use.
Apply liberally with a brush to all exposed surfaces. Very dry sections may be recoated after 1 hour as the Galseal draws into the timber. It is not recommended to spray Galseal. Do not dilute the product. Clean brushes with turps.
Softwood decking: Will usually require 2 coats initially followed by a once a year maintenance coat.
Hardwood decking: Will usually require 1 coat initially followed by a once a year or every 2 years maintenance coat.
Coverage of approximately 12 square metres per litre depending on the porosity of the timber. Drying time is dependent on temperature and moisture content of the timber. In normal conditions Galseal dries in approximately 6-18 hours.
