Oak has been used for flooring for decades. Stable, hard and long lasting with light brown hues – this is a beautiful floor.
Unlike an engineered or laminated floor, solid flooring can be easily sanded and sealed, has a lower carbon footprint, has better insulating properties and provides a solid under foot feel.
We carefully select the best kiln dried raw material and machine this to our exact specifications resulting in the best quality solid flooring.
Like all timber floors one of the most important aspects to insure a trouble free installation is to allow the flooring to acclimatise on site before installation. This can vary from a few days to weeks depending on the on site moisture content.
The recommended span for 22mm Oak flooring is 450mm to 500mm.
It is critical that the supporting structure is correctly designed. A poor quality and squeaky floor is often the result of a poorly or under designed supporting structure.
We recommend that the floor is installed using the Porta Nailer floor nailer.
We recommend that a professional floor sander is used to ensure a high quality finish. Various floor varnishes are available – we recommend the Rystix Armafloor range.
