Endura fit-for-purpose timber is a range of quality timber products locally manufactured and supplied by Somerset Timbers for the construction and DIY sectors.
Endura branded products use raw materials that are sourced from sustainable suppliers and carefully selected and graded to ensure quality and durability. The same care is applied to production where the experienced Somerset Timbers team uses the latest manufacturing techniques when processing the raw timber.
Locally Manufactured
The long-serving members of the Somerset Timbers’ team are well versed in the language of timber and they check each piece of wood to ensure the Endura standard is met. Endura products are manufactured using a combination of Moulding, Finger-jointing, Laminating and Treatment processes:
- Our MOULDING PLANT accurately planes and moulds timber to various shapes and sizes, creating a range of fit-for-purpose profiles.
- Our FINGER-JOINTING MACHINE, removes knots and other defects and rejoins the timber to produce products of improved quality and strength.
- Our skilled LAMINATION DIVISION produces beams and posts, shelving and countertops, balustrading and stair treads.
- At our SABS quality-controlled PRESSURE TREATMENT PLANT we treat timber to be unpalatable to insects and uninhabitable to fungus.
A Sign of Quality
- Endura pine products are made from 100% sustainably sourced South African pine.
- Endura exterior grade finger-jointed products are manufactured with Class D4 waterproof glue.
- Endura interior grade finger-jointed and laminated products are manufactured with Class D3 waterproof glue.
- All products are CCA H3 treated, and SABS approved.
