First-Hand Thermory Knowledge – Somerset Timbers’ trade sales manager, Ian Burger, recently returned from an incredible trip to Estonia, visiting Thermory, one of the world’s largest producers of thermowood decking, cladding, flooring, and panelling.
Somerset Timbers has recently become one of only four suppliers of thermally modified timber (TMT) in South Africa, and Ian was invited by Thermory to their global headquarters for a deep dive into their product range. He engaged with product engineers and staff on the factory floor to gain a thorough understanding of how these top-quality products are made and used.
Ian described the visit as “a tour of a lifetime,” and stated,
My trip aimed to fully embrace the Thermory product range and ensure I could bring back as much knowledge of thermowood as possible to the architects, quantity surveyors, and engineers we work with.
